Yes, there are several components of Umrah including recommendation of shaving head for men after completion of Umrah. It is recommended to perform Halq to exit Ihram, as it signifies the purification of pilgrims and indicates the completion of Umrah. Several Muslim scholars emphasises having all head instead of trimming. While other Muslim pilgrims perform Taqsir (trimming the hair), shaving head as a symbolic representation of Umrah is more rewarding. Some pilgrims have simply shortened the length of their hair to Halq.
Rules for Men
- Cutting hair: the prior requisite to exit the Ihram is cutting hair from their heads. They choose to cut hair according to their own choice.
- Shaving full head: foremost requisite to exit from state of Ihram after completion of Umrah is performing Halq. Halq is shaving the full head and removing all hair from the head.
- Trimming some hair: some pilgrims choose to just symbolize the tradition of exiting Ihram. So, they simply trim hair after completion of Umrah.
Rules for Women
Muslim women pilgrims also trim few inches of their hair to exit the Ihram after completing all rituals of Umrah.
